At Daley Ranch, located in the heart of Summit County, Colorado, a single panoramic snapshot captures Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Lake Dillon. The Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness Area is literally next door and Vail is just 30 miles west. I worked with Equilibrium Resorts to create mountain ranch homes and a marketing package that captured the essence of this property that climbs toward the Continental Divide.

Saunders Bridge is a community built around the centerpiece of a 100-year old historic covered bridge along Lake Lauralee south of Birmingham, Alabama. In keeping with Alabama’s folk vernacular architecture, I planned this community with the idea that the houses and their materials would blend with the surrounding lake and trees. The nature-rich environment allows lakeside homes to engage the water and mountainside homes to climb up the mountains which are the foothills of the Appalachians.

Mahogany is a lakeside traditional neighborhood development in central Texas located on the north shore of Lake Travis just outside of the city limits of Austin. I led a team of designers who worked with Equilibrium Resorts to plan this new urban community in the area known as the “gateway to the Texas Hill Country”. The international design team brought an Italianate sensibility to the planning, taking ques from century-old organic, walk-able Italian towns.

Asked their favorite retreat, Texans consistently rank Possum Kingdom Lake at the top. Located 75 miles west of Fort Worth, the lake’s length – 65 miles – and its clarity thanks to a unique limestone floor – make it a rarity in the region. I led a team of designers who helped Equilibrium Resorts plan a new urban community along a nine-mile stretch of view-rich shoreline. The international design team brought an Italianate sensibility to the planning, taking ques from century-old organic, walk-able Italian towns. Of course, all is still in keeping with the legacy of the Lone Star State.
